How to measure

Bordelle pieces are known for their extensive adjustment, however it is still important to ensure you find the right size before making a purchase. This Size and Style Guide will help you take the correct measurments and compare them to our Size Guide.

We use three measurments as well as your bra size to determine the best Bordelle size. Please see the steps below to take these measurments, you will need a fabric measuring tape to do this. We recommend standing in front of a mirror when measuring yourself.

Bra Size

Find your most common bra size - example: 34B

Underbust Measurement

Place the measuring tape around your ribcage, just beneath your breasts. Make sure the tape is running straight and level around your body to ensure the most accurate measurement.

Waist Measurement

Place the measuring tape around the narrowest part of your body and ensure it is .level around your back

Lower Hip Measurement

Place the tape around the fullest part of your body (around bum) and ensure the tape is straight and level.

Choosing the correct bra size is important to ensure the best fit in Bordelle. It is most important to find the correct size in both our wired and more structured bra styles. Use your usual bra size and underbust measurement to help find the correct Bordelle size - SS, S, M, L or LL.

If your usual bra size cannot be seen on the size chart then it is possible that the one shown is your 'sister size' if you would like help determining this then please contact us.

Styles We Offer

See below examples of styles Bordelle has to offer. Each season we will offer designs which represent the different bra categories. However not all styles will be available each season.

Balconette

Wired Bra with fabric cups. Often a thin underband - not longline.

Bodice Bra

Wired bra with fabric cups. Often longer line with adjustment at the back.

Plunge Wire

Plunge wire bras are great for enhancing your figure. The Push-Up Bra also uses moulded cups to better the affect, but this wire is also used in embroidery or mesh designs.

Ouvert Wire

Fully ouvert (cupless) bras which are wired for support. Shelf Bras are also ouvert but feature a quarter cup section of fabric. Usually worn with Nipplets

Adjustable Cup

This classic shape is often re-imagined in our Seasonal Collections. Adjustable straps form part of the cup which allows room for the bust and more versatile for sizes smaller or larger than our offered size range.

Styles

Soft Cup

Non-wired fabric cups with front or back fastening.

Wrap

Wrapped over cups, used on both soft and wired bras.

Crop Top

Can be worn as outer-wear. Usually soft cup, out of either mesh or elastic.

Triangle

Offers less coverage than a Soft Cup. A very wearable style which often features in our Seasonal Collections.

Adjustment

All Bordelle bras feature adjustment, but the amount of adjustment will depend on the style. Find your underbust measurement on our size chart to find the corresponding Bordelle size. If your underbust is above your recommended bra size then you would need to opt for our more adjustable styles.

Styles with adjustable straps which extend from the underarm and around to a centre back fastening will have the most adjustment. Styles with wide band elastic are softer and can therefore offer more comfort. Styles with adjustment only at the sides, with a centre back area of fabric, will offer less adjustment/width around the underband.

Brief/Thong

Briefs

Full briefs, ouvert briefs or harness briefs, there is a lot to choose from in these styles. Use your lower hip and top hip measurement to determine the correct size. For high waist pieces, you will need to use your waist measurement also.

Thongs

Our most popular styles, Bordelle thongs are created with wearability in mind and a constant re-invention of the classic shape each season. Use your lower hip and top hip measurement to determine the correct size.

Styles

Classic Thong

Created using either an elastic thong strap or mesh back. Mesh backs are great for comfort and wearability

High Waist

High waist pieces sit high on the waist. Can either be a full brief, a thong or an open back brief.

Ouvert Brief

No gusset at the front or back. Can be all elastic or fabric.

Full Brief

Full coverage at front and back - mesh or embroidery

Open Back Brief

Open at the back, closed at the front.

Suspenders

Two Strap

Suspenders with two suspender straps are best suited to our Garters, or to be worn with hold-ups. They cannot hold stockings in place. Use your waist measurement to determine your size.

Four or Six Strap Suspenders

These styles can be worn with Garters, stockings or hold-ups. Use your waist measurement to determine your size.

Styles We Offer

All Bordelle Suspenders are created using our Bespoke 24k gold plated branded suspender clips. The rubber tabs are colour matched to each design. Sometimes suspender straps are removable, and are also sometimes included on Basques, briefs, harnesses, skirts and dresses.

Can be worn with Garters or hold-ups. Each clip can fasten to a 24k plated component on our Garters or to the elastic strapping

Four Strap

Can be worn wih Garters or stockings.

Six Strap

Can be worn with stockings or garters. Each clip can fasten to a 24k plated component on our Garters or to the elastic strapping

Bodywear

Structured Bodywear

This includes bodies and basques. For all, use your underbust, bra size and waist measurment. For garments that sit on the hip or have a thong/brief strap, also use your hip measurments.

Harness Bodywear

This includes all elastic pieces. Use your underbust, bra size, waist and hip measurments to determine the best size.

Styles

Body

Body with no specific cup area so good for easy sizing. Usually use a thong strap which is hooked at the back for ease when wearing. Great for layering.

Wired Body

Wired for support, so bra sizing is more important. Usually fastened at the back with a hooked thong strap for ease when wearing.

Basque

Can come in many shapes: Cupless, Underbust, Cropped, embroidery or all elastic. Usually include suspender straps and a wired cup.

Bra Harness

Great for layering. Usually features a collar strap and underbust strap details

Body Harness

Usually entirely made from elastic straps, always very adjustable for easy sizing. Perfect for layering.

Ouvert

Ouvert Bras

Ouvert is often used to describe any bra which is cupless. Shelf bras are also ouvert but this is not included in the title.

Ouvert Bottoms/Bodywear

Any Harness style briefs, thongs or body are usually fully ouvert (open at the front and back). Ouvert also describes briefs/thongs with open gussets.

Styles

Ouvert Wire Bra

Wired for support and fully ouvert with no fabric cup. Often worn with Nipplets.

Shelf Bra

Ouvert bra with quarter cup not intended for coverage. Usually worn with nipplets

Ouvert Brief/Thong

Open at the front and back, no gusset area.

Harness

Harnesses are almost always fully ouvert, which makes them great for layering over bodies, bras or thongs.

Dresses

The Angela Dress is an iconic Bordelle design which has been re-imagined several times through the years. You need to use all your measurments to determine the best size in a Dress. They are always adjustable to get the perfect fit.

Waspies

The famous Bordelle skirt is a perfect addition to any collection. Made entirely of elastic strapping, these incredibly adjustable pieces are a real statement. Use your waist and hip measurments to find the right size.

Styles We Offer

Dresses and Waspies both feature extensive adjustment. We advise adjusting the garment to a loose point in order to zip it in place, and then tightening when on the body to achieve the perfect fit. Suspender clips cannot be removed on any of our dresses or waspies.

Adjustable Bondage Angela Dress

Featuring adjustable bondage strapping and the same base as the Contour Angela Dress.

Contour Adjustable Angela Dress

(how many) rows of elastic strapping and (how many) gold components. Fully adjustable down the back with zip fastening. Contour refers to the mesh lining in the front of the dress.

Adjustable Waspie

With adjustment down the back and elastic straps across the front. Offers more coverage at the front than the Panel Waspie.

Panel Waspie

Fully Adjustable down the sides of the garment with centre back zip fastening. Panelling detail at the front makes this garment more revealing than our other waspie and dresses.

Mesh Dress

A dress that is perfect for layering. Made entirely of mesh and elastic straps. Swan hook fastening at the back.

Accessories

Garters

Garters will be offered with every Seasonal and our Signature Collections. They are always one size and can be worn with any suspender or garment with suspender clips, as well as on their own.

Collars

Collars will also always be included in our Collections. Usually made only from elastic and 24k gold plated hardware. The perfect piece to complete a look.

Styles We Offer

Garters and Collars are our most loved accessories, however we also offer Cuffs, Anklets, Nipplets and Belts. All Accessories are one size so a size guide is not required.

Styles

Multi-Strap Garters

These garters feature only our satin elastic strapping and 24k gold plated components. Suspender clips can be attached to both the rings and the elastic straps.

Wide Band

Garters which feature our wide band elastic are softer and offer slightly more comfort. They are often combined with over-sized 24k gold plated components.

Embroidery

Garters are often created to match our embroidery collections perfectly. These come in various different shapes and are only Seasonal.

Strap Accessories

This range features a Collar, Cuff and Anklet which all are 13mm elastic with a series of decorative 24k gold plated components.

Ring Collars

These often include an over-sized ring and will match with any styles created from the same colour elastic.
